Grant Awards
Luncheon

February 11, 2025

On February 11th, the Wexford Foundation presented $465,000 in grants to 33 deserving charities at their annual grant awards luncheon.  With 120 in attendance, the event celebrated the inspiring achievements of the selected charities, and their projects designed to create positive change in the local area.

Established in 2012, the Foundation is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the local health, housing, hunger and educational charities with financial resources. The grant awards luncheon is the purpose of the Foundation’s year-long fundraising efforts, and their rigorous grant selection process.

The luncheon was sponsored by South State Bank, a local business that has been a long-standing supporter of the Foundation.  During the event, Foundation Chair Jim Hicks spoke about the passion and commitment of the charity recipients whose work positively impacts residents on Hilton Head Island and the surrounding area.  “Congratulations to our awardees,” said Hicks.  “We are proud of your ability to change outcomes in a very positive way.  We thank you for everything you do, for the reasons you do it, and most of all for the results that give all of us a better, healthier and stronger community.”

His commentary also sincerely thanked and recognized everyone who made this special day possible.  “This is our 13th year presenting grants to our treasured local charities, and today we will surpass $3,500,000 in total grants awarded,” said Hicks. At the conclusion of the luncheon, the Foundation announced their plan to award an additional $400,000 this year in major impact grants as a result of the tremendous donor support.
