Our 2026 Partners: Inspiring Hope, Changing Lives

This year, the Wexford Foundation awarded $478,500 to 31 deserving charities working tirelessly to strengthen our Lowcountry community.

Through their good work and compassion, these organizations create a caring environment that inspires hope when it’s needed most. Day in and day out, they bridge the gaps that make life challenging for so many—providing essential support in health, housing, hunger, and education.

Recipient Awards

Enriches the local community through live performances and educational programs. This grant will be used to enable 1900 K-12th grade students to attend a live theater educational field trip series. 

Provides nutritious food and food vouchers to chronically hungry children in Bluffton and Hardeeville. This grant will be used to provide nutritious food and food vouchers to children through their Summer Farmers Market program.

Delivers hot food to seniors, working poor, and homeless individuals in the Bluffton area. This grant will enable them to purchase food and supplies to provide 7,000 hot meals to area residents.

Assists neighbors in critical need of food, clothing, tutoring and financial assistance.  This grant will provide emergency financial assistance for rent/mortgage/utilities and food to qualified families.

Visits new parents and provides resources to promote the importance of daily reading and communication with infants starting from birth. This grant will be used to buy resource bags and books to promote their early childhood literacy program.

Provides programs to help young people reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. This grant will be used to replace the outdated computers in their Technology Lab.

Promotes awareness of child abuse and keeping at-risk children safe from harm. This grant will provide funding to buy gift cards for children initially placed in foster care.

Provides affordable, high quality early education and childcare for working families. This grant will be used to fund their Tuition Assistance Program to help families struggling with the cost of infant and toddler childcare.

Provides shelter, food, and support services to homeless families. This grant will be used to help cover the operating costs of running a shelter for families transitioning into the community.

Preserves the history, traditions and culture of the Gullah Community.  They are receiving a grant for the development and installation of interactive signage that will provide visitors with a self-guided learning experience.

Provides college tuition assistance & mentorship to deserving minority students. This grant will be used to provide educational stipends and mentorship to college students from the local area who are in need.

Provides equine-assisted therapy to special needs children, adults, and veterans. This grant will be used to help underwrite the cost of equine therapy for Beaufort County special needs students.

Helps people in emergency situations with rent, utility bills, food, clothing, furnishings, or home repairs. This grant is for their Livable Housing Home Repairs Program and will provide funding to help ensure people live in a safe, secure home.

Provides in-home palliative care to individuals with serious life limiting illnesses.  Their grant will provide laptop computers and software to support this growing program.

Provides safety, hope and healing to victims of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault. This grant will be used to produce a promotional video to educate people of their no cost services and raise awareness of issues they can address.

Focuses on individuals whose economic situation limits their ability to have adequate, healthy food.  This grant to will be used to fund a program that provides milk boxes per week to over 200 needy Hilton Head public school children. 

Provides programs that support families affected by autism and is receiving a grant to cover the cost of swim lessons for 28 autistic children since drowning is the leading cause of death in autistic children.  

Provides residence assistance & support for adults recovering from addiction. This grant will be used for scholarships for people entering their recovery residences for Alcohol and Drug addiction.


Provides free critical legal services to low-income individuals and families. This grant will be used for their Housing Protection Program which deals with landlord disputes, unfair evictions, unsafe housing conditions and security deposit recovery.

Provides meals, a socialization experience and a wellness check to homebound individuals here on Hilton Head.  This grant will be used to purchase the meals that will be delivered by volunteers.

Pays for eye exams and glasses for people living at or below the poverty level.  This grant will be used to provide eye exams, eyeglasses and prescription eye medications to those who qualify and live in Beaufort and Jasper Counties.

Serves individuals and families affected by cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s and related dementias.  This grant will be used to support fee assistance for those families in need. 

Provides supplementary educational programs & technology to disadvantaged students. This grant will fund their Hilton Head after-school education & enrichment program at their Cordillo location on HHI.

Is dedicated to reducing the rate of suicides among veterans and active military.  This grant will be used to help support their Challenge Accepted Program that is designed to foster post-traumatic growth.

Promotes independence, social interaction, and employment opportunities for intellectually disabled adults. This grant will cover 250 free days of PEP Services to individuals waiting for a Medicare waiver.

Provides transportation and related services (e.g., medical appointments & shopping) so island residents can continue to reside in their homes. This grant will cover transportation costs for for 10 needy Hilton Head residents

Provides fresh food, dignity, and friendships to over 700 families annually. This grant will be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables to help fill the shelves for their pantry. 

Strives to eliminate hunger and food waste in the South Carolina Lowcountry by rescuing food and redistributing it to over 50 local food pantries. This grant will to help fund four months of their Healthy Food Initiative for Hilton Head and Bluffton.

Provides year-round sports training and competition for special needs children and adults.  This grant will be used to support their track and Field Event in March for 500+ children. 

Provides comprehensive medical care to the underserved and uninsured. This grant will be used to fund their program to screen and treat patients at risk for diabetic retinopathy.

Committed to addressing the needs of their high-risk diabetic patients by providing them with a simple tool to continuously monitor their blood sugar.  This grant will help purchase these devices.
