Our Story
How We Began
Founded in 2012 by a group of compassionate Wexford residents, the Wexford Foundation was born from a shared belief in the power of collective giving to uplift underserved neighbors in our community. From the start, our mission has been clear: provide vital financial support to local charities focused on health, housing, hunger, and education.
In our first year, we awarded $68,000 to 11 deserving charities—transforming vision into reality. That commitment continues to thrive today.
The Lives We've Touched
Through the extraordinary generosity of Wexford members and community donors, thousands of lives have been transformed. Seniors have retained their independence. Young adults have gained language and literacy skills. Families have secured access to nutritious food, healthcare, and affordable housing. Children have benefited from preschool and after-school opportunities once out of reach. Abuse victims have received protection, counseling, and a path forward. Our support continues to change outcomes in powerful, positive ways.
Our Impact Today
Over the years, the Foundation has grown into a powerful force for good in the Lowcountry. We proudly award both annual grants and major impact grants that fund larger capital projects and transformational programs—all to local charities making a real difference.
In 2025 alone, the Foundation distributed $465,000 to 33 charities at our annual February Grant Awards Luncheon, along with $380,000 in five Major Impact Grants in September.
Since our inception, we have invested more than $4 million in our local area—creating lasting, positive change and strengthening the fabric of our community.
